NS Level 1 Local Release

General Description : The Lunar Prospector Level 1 Data covers the following time periods: high1: Jan. 16 - Oct. 5, 1998; high2: Oct. 7 - Dec. 19, 1998; low: Dec. 19, 1998 - July 31, 1999. The Level-1 data are expressed in counts rather than abundances or fluxes.

Data

Thermal and Epithermal Neutrons
These files contain thermal and epithermal count rates for the entire Moon. The neutron counts have been averaged over the time and binned into equal area pixels that have a size of 5x5 degrees at the lunar equator. Values are in units of counts per 32-seconds.

Auxiliary Data

A file that lists times of solar energetic particle events. Gamma ray and neutron spectrometer data are omitted from the data products for these time periods. The file also lists times of gain changes for the gamma ray spectrometer.
